Website update

I've moved the web site from using WordPress, to using Drupal. Drupal is more in the spirit of Amateur Radio anyway, in the way that it's community driven. As a programmer, I find drupal easier to work with as well.

With the new site:

  • added user accounts
  • users can add their own link stations or repeaters to the site's listings
  • Full content rewrite

That's it, that's all. 73

Network update

I’m currently moving the 420 network servers over to a high availability computer network. This way, all the servers will have real-time backup servers, ready to take up the slack if the main server goes off-line.

While copying some files, I noticed that I installed thebridge on Nov 16, 2018 @ 14:43 UTC. That was the first server we had, so that would be the official beginning of the 420 radio network.

Since that time, we’ve setup a dstar reflector, and linked it to the echolink conference *420* via WL4DX-L, and the same thing on DMR via VE1KLR-L.

As of the time of writing this, the network is 3 weeks old. It started during a qso on the VE1KLR-L on Echolink. Now we have an Echolink conference server, a website, and a D-star reflector. It’s really growing fast, and coming along.
